Boss is Away

Have you ever done a fringe design? If you look at the bottom of the lamp shade you will find it there.

We asked our own Jim K to come up with this fun and easy to sew design as a kind of joke, but Jim liked it so much that he decided to sew this out on a golf towel. He said that "The Boss" could have several meanings.

He used StitchArtist Level 2 for the digitizing and he used the Elementary font found in Fonts 1 for the letters.

As with all of Jim's designs it is in the .be file format so you can easily make changes and see how he did it.

Creating embroidery used to be so difficult that you had to apprentice for years in order to learn it. The early computerization of embroidery made it easier to create and edit designs, but it was still by no means easy! Job security was in knowing how to 'punch' a design. No one shared those 'secrets' of embroidery willingly.

Our team has spent nearly two decades working to pry those secrets out of the old guard. And we've invested over a decade in designing StitchArtist to break the cycle of difficult embroidery software. We've also discovered that they didn't 'know' as much as they thought they knew, they even argue a lot about it among themselves, and what they knew about embroidery machines then isn't true today.

Every day we see posts of beautiful designs made by brand-new digitizers - many even have started etsy.com stores or pinterest sites! The learning process is not two years long anymore - it varies from two DAYS to two WEEKS!

With our success, some of the 'old guard' are feeling nervous - and rightly so! We have changed the rules - making it easy, automatic and you no longer have to part of the 'club' in order to learn 'secrets' of digitizing. Instead of joining us, they have hatched up something dumb: a reworked version of their Grandpa's program.

Don't you LOVE to watch a well digitized design stitch? How it weaves its traveling stitches into the underlay of other sections so you don't have to trim jumps? Its like watching a ballet.

We planned our software with ease of use in mind. Let's automate functions that make sense to automate - not the creative stuff! Let's put the "boring mundane but necessary" functions to work in the software so that our customer doesn't HAVE to have access to all that confusing mathematical part of the digitizing of old.

Let's keep things simple.

Ok, maybe its a bit confusing when you take classes from those teaching old school style techniques - alot of what they are teaching you is the history of digitizing and we all know that knowing our history creates a better future. But knowing the history doesn't mean you have to repeat it! It just means that the software you are using was developed based upon that historical data and the programmers used all that information to create the modern software, Embrilliance and really, only Embrilliance as of today.
